The Morgans Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 29 June 2025

Background
G & Jo Limited (GJL) owns the golf course at Pāuatahanui, as well as the associated clubrooms and facilities (The Morgans).

One of GJL’s objects is to encourage participation in, and promote the great game golf. In order to fulfil this object, and to enable members of the public to become involved with the course and all it has to offer, GJL has established The Morgans.

Customers of The Morgans must comply with the rules and undertake the obligations set out below.

GJL holds a liquor licence on behalf of The Morgans.

Consequences of Non-Payment and other T&C Breaches
It is a condition of entry that prior you have registered with us online, provided the correct details and hence know that by purchasing a round or rounds you agree to the following

  1. That you will pay via our online system for every round or part-round that you undertake on the course. This is the only way we accept payment and it means you accept our terms and conditions.
  2. That when your purchase a round – either as a one-off payment or via a multipass arrangement – and obtain a PIN number to enable you to enter our property, that you will be responsible for anyone else who is facilitated entry by use of this PIN that day. This applies both to payment of their entry fee and their conduct on the course.
  3. The consequence of you or a member of your playing group either not-paying or misbehaving on our course is that you and your colleagues are all subject to forfeiture of your future rights of entry. This is not a public course, you are invited to play providing you have registered, thereby agreeing to our terms and conditions. That is the prior arrangement you enter into before your play commences. Breach of the T&C’s will result in the loss of your right of entry, cancellation of any multipass credits you have with us without compensation. In short we do not want to see you again.

Restricted Property Access
Access to the golf course does not include access to the Sculptures on the adjoining property or to the areas of native bush or farm that are adjacent to the course in places. Your playing fees are strictly for the purpose of playing golf only. For your information we will soon be opening a Sculpture Trail which will enable entrants to tour the whole Sculpture Park. We expect this to commence in the Spring of 2025.

Golf Bookings
  • You may cancel a booking and receive booking credits so long as you do it more than 24 hours or longer prior to your tee-off time
  • A Round on our course is 9 holes. You must book a second tee-off time slot if you wish to play 18 holes.
  • We retain the right to cancel all bookings should inclement weather make the course unplayable. Under those circumstances patrons will of course get a the cancelled rounds credited to their balance with us.
  • All multipasses are valid for 12 months after the date of purchase.

Golf Booking Updates and Cancellations
If a booked game is cancelled 24 hours or more before the booked time, the customer’s account round balance will be credited for the cancelled game. Please note, no refund payment will be made to customers.

If a booking is updated and the number of players is reduced, the customer's account round balance will be credited for the reduced players. Please note, no refund payment will be made to customers.

Bonus Dollars
  • Bonus Dollars are not redeemable in cash.
  • 1 Bonus Dollar is equivalent to 1 New Zealand Dollar for redemptions on The Morgans golf bookings or multipass purchases.
  • Bonus Dollars can be earned through Congestion Avoidance Discounts and Frequency Discounts. Any eligible discounts will be credited to your account Bonus Dollar balance on the next working day after your Golf Booking Tee-off time.
  • We reserve the right to adjust the Bonus Dollars balance in your account if we identify any inaccuracy.
  • Bonus Dollars are valid for 12 months after the date of allocation.
  • If a customer's account is cancelled, any remaining Bonus Dollar balance will be forfeited with no compensation.
  • Your Bonus Dollar balance will redeem on your next purchase from us (not your current booking purchase).
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or any aspect of the Bonus Dollars, Congestion Avoidance Discounts, or Frequency Discounts with or without notice to you.

Congestion Avoidance Discounts
If you play on weekdays or in a group of 3 or 4 in the weekend you will receive a discount on the cost of your round.

  • Weekday = 22% discount on your individual player round
  • Weekend or Public Holiday = If you are playing in a group of 3 or 4 you will get a 22% discount on your individual player round
Congestion Avoidance Discounts and Frequency Discounts only apply to your individual player round in bookings. Other players in your booking are only eligible for discounts if they purchase their round using a shared booking with their own Morgans account. If you pay for their round via your account they are not eligible.

Frequency Discounts
For players who play more, there will be a discount.

There are 3 classes of frequency discounts:
  • F3 Discount - If, over the last 3 months, you’ve played more than 26 times = 5% off your individual player round
  • F6 Discount - If, over the last 6 months, you’ve played more than 52 times = 10% off your individual player round
  • F12 Discount - If, over the last 12 months, you’ve played more than 104 times = 20% off your individual player round
The Frequency discount is an ongoing calculation that is refreshed daily.

The Frequency Discount is calculated off the number of games you play, not the number of player rounds you buy. For example:
  • Customer A makes 3 bookings with 1 player in each = 3 plays
  • Customer B makes 3 bookings of 4 players in each = 3 plays
Congestion Avoidance Discounts and Frequency Discounts only apply to your individual player round in bookings. Other players in your booking are only eligible for discounts if they purchase their round using a shared booking with their own Morgans account. If you pay for their round via your account they are not eligible.

Only Round Types purchased from 3 October 2022 onwards are eligible for Frequency Discounts. Round Types are purchased as part of Golf Bookings or Multipass purchases.

  • Do not allow others to enter through the entry security gate unless they are part of your booked group. You will be held accountable for any unauthorised access.
Dress code

Players can enjoy the fact that there is no course dress code. However we do require all players to wear footwear that will not damage our playing surfaces, the Greens in particular are sensitive to heels.

Amendments

GJL may amend or add to these rules, as well as these terms and conditions, at any time. It will notify current customers if it does so.

Non-Playing Adult Spectators – $23 Admission Fee Applies
Non-playing adults such as caddies, spouses, or friends are welcome to accompany you on the course. A course access fee of $23 per spectator applies, payable at the EFTPOS machine inside the clubhouse on arrival.

Please note: a maximum of two non-playing adults per player is permitted.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Navigating Our Driveway
The driveway into the course is 800m long, narrow, extremely scenic and has a 20 kph maximum speed (your average will be less than 20 kph). The driveway is not a fully two-way carriageway, for much of its length it is a single lane but we provide pull-off bays to allow safe passing of opposing traffic – in some instances one of the vehicles may have to reverse into a bay to enable this.

To further encourage drivers to navigate the driveway safely and with due regard to the comfort of others using the road, we have been instructed by Traffic Management of Porirua City Council not to tarseal all surfaces of the driveway to the maximum width, and to include both soft and lowered drainage swales along its length that present a visual deterrent to excessive driver speed. Similarly there is no white centre line – that would give the impression it is two way.

It is a condition of entry that drivers comply with the requirements to navigate the driveway safely without endangering others. We retain the right to sanction drivers for not doing so, the ultimate sanction being forfeiture of your future rights of entry to the property.

Event Ticket Purchases
Any Event Ticket issued by The Morgans is subject to the following conditions and may be cancelled for any breach.

Event Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged after purchase. The Morgans will only refund a ticket if an event is cancelled or the event is significantly rescheduled or changed, or to the extent otherwise required by the laws of New Zealand.

In the event of a cancellation, the usual process will be for the ticket to be refunded directly to the credit card used for the original purchase.

In the event that a ticket is lost or stolen The Morgans will only issue a replacement if the authenticity of the purchaser can be obtained.

Entry to an event may be refused if the authenticity of a ticket is in question.

The Morgans reserves the right to refuse entry to the venue with reasonable cause. Late arrivals may be refused entry until the next appropriate intermission.

The Morgans reserves the right to refuse entry to any intoxicated or abusive persons.
